The mobile camping week (Miracle Rivers) with Letaka Safaris was truly an outstanding experience. From the very beginning, we were deeply impressed by the remarkable professionalism and extensive knowledge of Benjamin, our guide, who brings over twenty years of invaluable experience in the field. His intimate understanding of the terrain, combined with a genuine passion for wildlife and nature, made every moment of the safari incredibly meaningful and enriching. Benjamin is not only skilled at locating animals, but he also shares fascinating insights about their behaviors with great respect and sensitivity.

Equally noteworthy was the outstanding work of the entire camp team. Despite the inherent challenges of operating in such remote and wild locations, the team managed to deliver flawless organization and impeccable care throughout our stay. From the comfortable accommodations to the delicious meals, every detail was thoughtfully handled with warmth and attentiveness.

The encounters with animals were generally a bit less “intimate” compared to those we had during our first week in Botswana, which we spent in private concessions. This was often due to the presence of multiple vehicles at the same time, both in Moremi and Mababe, which inevitably reduced the sense of exclusivity and immersion in nature. We were aware that Moremi tends to be busier, given its accessibility to self-drivers, but honestly, we had expected less “traffic” in Mababe.

From a wildlife perspective, Mababe fell slightly short of our expectations, though we were fortunate to experience several memorable encounters with the resident wild dog pack, including the unique opportunity to see their den and pups.

In conclusion, what truly made this adventure stand out was undoubtedly the exceptional guidance provided by Benjamin and the extraordinary dedication of the Letaka Safaris team. Their expertise and professionalism form the very heart and soul of this safari experience, turning each day into a memorable occasion, even when conditions or sightings were not at their peak. We wholeheartedly recommend this experience to anyone looking to immerse themselves in nature with the confidence of being accompanied by passionate and highly skilled professionals.

I was able to experience Botswana on a 10-day, 9-night safari with Letaka Safaris in February, and it was incredible! I had stayed in a few lodges before this, but experiencing it from a tent was a whole different adventure. You feel a lot more immersed in the experience when at night you can hear the elephants grazing close by or lions communicating with each other. Also, being there in the rainy season made travel a different and more exhilarating experience; you just had to be prepared for it.

The team does a great job of taking care of everyone and everything. I marvel at their efficiency in setting up and taking down camp every 3 days, regardless of weather conditions, all with a smile on their face. The chef created delicious vegetarian meals and it's amazing what they are able to prepare with limited facilities. Mealtimes were always great for conversations about what we had seen and heard, but also getting to know and understand more about everyone around the table and the areas they called home.

It really felt like we had a lot of time at our wildlife sightings, and we had some spectacular and rare ones. Mbara was a fantastic guide and tracker. He taught us how to "read the newspaper" i.e. the tracks on the roads, then was able to follow them, find the animal, get us in the perfect spot, and tell us the story of what happened. He was interested and enthusiastic about the sightings and also keen on furthering his knowledge, with many guidebooks available for all of us to use. The power system in the vehicles was great to charge any electronic devices that you had and the fridge of cold drinks was much appreciated. You don't realize how much you have to drink to stay hydrated when you are out there!

The whole team was incredible, ready to handle whatever happened, professional but also very personable. I would absolutely recommend travelling with Letaka Safaris, it was a dream come true for me from start to finish.

You have given me so many fabulous memories on my trips with you. Your guides and camp staff are a true pleasure to be with, and all the backroom staff deserve praise as well. I’m already looking forward to my next trip with you in May/June.

One moment that will remain with me for the rest of my days was the evening when, returning to camp, our Land Cruiser developed a minor problem and we had to wait for the rescue vehicle to come out to us. That hour of waiting in the bush turned into a bit of a bush party – our only fear was running out of drinks from the cool box.

It’s a pity bush parties can’t be added to all your itineraries!

We were on CJ's Northern Highlights in September this year, travelling as a family group of 7. We had the most amazing experience which was enhanced by CJ and the team. Attention to our comfort and our safety was second to none and we loved the easy camaraderie that developed in camp and while on the twice daily safari excursions.

KK was our chef and he couldn't have made any improvement on his varied and delicious menu, catering for vegetarians and one vegan superbly. Culinary excellence KK, thank you so much. (And all that on a camp oven!)

Neems was our waiter - best gin and tonic ever and cold and waiting for us on arrival in camp - wow Neems, you're the best.

Kubo showed up just at the right time with our shower water and just the right temperature too! Go Kubo!

CJ was amazing - he intuited the right time and places to be at - the hyena den being one example we will never forget - and we appreciated his patience. Love you CJ and we'll be back!

Letaka have hit the jackpot with this tour - no detail left out, great spots to camp, fabulous staff, nothing was too much - including flying in some "bubbles" for a birthday celebration ... We hope the boys are still enjoying some football!!

We recently returned from the Northern Highlights mobile tented safari and cannot praise Letaka Safaris enough. We loved every minute and I am still sad that it is over!

Botswana is beautiful and we saw incredible animals everyday, but what really made this trip special was the stellar team from Letaka Safaris. It was evident that our guide CJ loves his job. He has a great knack for finding animals and getting in a position so that everyone in the truck has a good view. He is knowledgeable and a joy to be around and kept our group of 6 engaged and laughing.

Mmulla, Kabelo and Buncy were gracious and highly competent. They never missed a beat and we were very well taken care of. The food was delicious and the quality and variety was amazing. If you have the chance to go on safari, do not hesitate to book with Letaka Safaris!

We recently enjoyed a 10-day tour with our guide CJ. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

The camps were just the right amount of luxury vs. camping - we slept very well. CJ was a great guide, very knowledgable and showed us a huge amount of wildlife.

The food is some of the best I've eaten anywhere and was all prepared in the bush oven, which was very cool to see. They catered for our family of meat eaters, vegetarians, and vegans - and plenty of beers and G&T's too.

An awesome trip, can't recommend enough!

Six of us participated in a mobile tented safari with Letaka Safaris. It was magical in every way!!

Our guide (Gee) knew the best places to view animals, he was able to follow tracks, and educated us about their characteristics and habits. Gee also shared information about his culture when we sat around the fire after dinner each night.

Our cook (Mmulla) worked miracles on a "bush" stove and oven -- fresh baked bread, fresh baked cakes every day for afternoon tea time, and delicious meals for every lunch and dinner including vegetarian entrees. The support staff of Kebalo and David rounded out the team perfectly.

Although the canvas tents were basic, this team made it feel luxurious. We saw many animals -- elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, baboons, water buffalo, hypos, crocs, wild dogs, hyenas, black-backed jackals, zebras, wildebeests, over 100 bird species, etc.

There are zero negatives to express about Letaka Safaris. They are known for the best guides (thank you Gee), but they were so much more. After traveling together for 10 days we felt almost like family due to the warmth and care this team expressed throughout the trip. They won't disappoint!

We had the pleasure of a Northern experience 9 night, mobile safari hosted by Robson, Pula, Messenger and Johannes. Within 30 minutes of the first drive in Moremi Robson found a Leopard lounging in a tree with it's kill.

The following day a rhino family & on the day of our first move a wild dog hunt to follow in an adrenaline filled ride. The rest of the trip followed in that vein, with some incredible events in the campsite.

Robson's skill at finding game and spotting birds was incredible.

Pula's ability to produce bread & cake in a tin camp oven outstanding. Messenger & Jo's camp management & hospitality excellent.

We’ve recently returned from the Letaka Safaris 10 days Northern Highlights and couldn’t rate it highly enough.

Our guide, Frank, was exceptional. His knowledge of flora and fauna was outstanding and he had a great sense of humour. He also had fantastic driving skills which were definitely needed on some of the bush tracks and roads we encountered. We felt safe in his hands at all times.

Our camp was managed by Banda, Ludick and Poster. What a lovely group of men. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Banda prepared the most amazing meals; we ate like kings. The tents were roomy and our beds very comfortable.

We would highly recommend Letaka safaris as a well organised, responsible, ethical operator who go the extra mile to ensure their guests wants and needs are exceeded in every way.

My trip with Letaka started in late July and ended in early August...10 days total. As a solo traveler, this was my first safari trip so I went in with no expectations (mainly because I didn’t know what to expect)...and it turned out to be a trip that I would never forget.

We had 5 people in the group and we got along great...everyone was easy going with excellent sense of humor. CJ, our guide, was fun and worked hard to make sure we all enjoyed our trip.

In addition to the animals, we saw 10 days of the most beautiful sunrise and sunset...I couldn’t ask for a better tour guide.
